Comment bien réussir sa transition vers la cosmétique capillaire naturelle et ne pas abandonner dans l’essai ?

How to successfully transition to natural hair cosmetics and not give up in the process?

A return to our roots.

Here is the testimony of a person from our team who is starting her hair transition to natural products. She talks about her experience as a beginner in natural hair products. Below is her testimony.

If you too, like me, are starting out in the world of natural hair cosmetics, there is one thing you need to know first, so as not to be discouraged from taking the plunge!

This article is not meant to denigrate “conventional” hair products (not to use the term “chemical” in a pejorative way. Because we must keep in mind that everything in life is a chemical process). But rather to show you an alternative, which will allow your hair to explore its natural beauty and true nature to the fullest.

Conventional hair products work, just like makeup works, on facial imperfections. Its purpose is to “hide” imperfections. But what are we hiding?

By hiding these imperfections, our hair can be damaged underneath, dried out and weakened. Above all, they do not allow our hair to show its true nature, its true current state and to explore our hair potential to its maximum.

In my experience, when I first started using natural products, I was in a panic! I didn't recognize my hair anymore…

And yes, it was normal! My hair had been under makeup for 29 years, to use a metaphor. In addition, it had a lot of silicone, sulfate, and other product residue, to which it became very dependent, and which masked the state of my hair for years.

I couldn't expect an overnight change. I almost gave up in the process, and even thought that the product I was using wasn't for me…

And that's exactly why I want to write this article. To tell you that IT'S NORMAL! And thus prevent misinformation from being a hindrance to your transition to natural hair cosmetics.

If I have one piece of advice to give you, be patient ! This transition is not instantaneous, so patience is a virtue that you will have to cultivate. But believe me, it's worth it. Your hair will end up thanking you! Switching to natural hair cosmetics has a lot of advantages. Your hair will be sublimated, healthy, your routine will be lightened and all this, while contributing to the planet.

This transition can last between 1 and 4 months for healthy hair, and about 1 year for very damaged hair. However, keep in mind that all hair types are different and unique, so there are no specific rules. Trust your hair, be patient and don't give up!

A tip for those who are new to the transition to natural cosmetics: you should start with a hair detox.

Yes, you read that right, and no you are not going to wash your hair with green smoothies (laughs)

It's about doing a detox with natural products, for example by making a mask with white clay. In order to cleanse and purify your scalp and lengths. This will clean old product residues such as silicones, sulfates and other agents that can remain on the hair, in order to prepare them to start the new natural routine!

This way, you won't be disappointed!

During the transition period, the changes you will see in your hair will possibly be unsightly and uncomfortable. However, know that this is precisely a good sign that the detox is working. It is possible that you will be tempted to return to conventional products several times. But it is assiduity and consistency that will end up rewarding you in the long term, and which will subsequently guarantee the awakening of the true nature and beauty of your hair.

If you want to try the detox with the white clay mask recipe, it's here.

Finally, to support your transition and take the plunge into the world of natural hair cosmetics, the Mojito Rosemary Shampoo and the Blue Lagoon Mask with the scent of monoi will be your best allies!
